It's never too early or too late to tell your story.
We bridge the messy, beautiful process of writing with the practical realities of publishing. Real guidance from writers who know creative goals need both inspiration and a plan that works.

“When I woke up to my mid-life crisis dream of finally writing a book, I knew I needed reinforcements. I came to Hewes House with no expectations, but my coach Dasha has been brilliant. We're still early in the process, but Dasha has already given me with the tools to stay organized and keep moving forward. Plus, I genuinely feel supported. I can't recommend this team enough!”

“I absolutely love this company and especially my coach. She is so enthusiastic and insightful. I really feel like I have a champion in my corner. Plus it keeps me committed to my weekly writing goals to have to prepare every two weeks when we meet. Can't recommend them highly enough.”

“As a public relations professional, I spend most of my days writing, re-writing, and reviewing materials and repetition can sometimes rob you of creativity. Hewes House has been an invaluable partner in helping me sharpen my writing muscle and their detailed, thoughtful, and insightful feedback. My peers have noticed my change in approach and style, and wanted to know my secret. Everyone needs an editor, and my secret is Hewes House.”

Write
We know about the drawer full of first chapters, the brilliant beginnings that somehow never find their endings. Our coaches specialize in helping you discover what you need to actually finish what you start.
02
Edit
Once you have a complete draft (yes, really!), we'll guide you through the stages of revision—not just fixing what's broken, but developing your instincts as a writer. For many writers, this is where the real book emerges.
03
Publish
Traditional or independent publishing? We'll help you understand your options and create a path that makes sense for your book and your life. No one-size-fits-all advice here.

The Observer Effect
The Observer Effect
I am staring at my childhood home — a building that was bulldozed more than a decade ago. The shell of an old Chevy Malibu rests in the front yard. The weeds have long since claimed it, weaving in and out of the rusty compartments. I always assumed that one day the roots would pull the vehicle all the way down into the ground, returning it to the earth.
The neighborhood kids tell stories about my home. On Halloween, they don’t walk down the long, dark driveway to ring our doorbell. In those days I imagine myself as an animal in a zoo exhibit. I go about my business from inside the enclosure, occasionally peering out and wondering about the lives of the gangly primates on the other side. They terrify me. I spend my time indoors, tinkering. Finding things to
